Los Angeles Referral Map for Carrara

Prepared for Richard Taite | Carrara Treatment Wellness & Spa | October 2026

As of Oct 8, 2026. Counts from published federal statistics on US business locations for 2023, described in the notes at the foot

This page maps the practices and care teams in Los Angeles County that refer people into residential addiction and mental health care. It sorts them by type and names the roles that usually make the call at each. All three Carrara residences are in the county, so this is the market closest to you. It is a business to business map. Nothing on it touches patients, and it says nothing about who already refers to Carrara.

Large worksites

Carrara runs an executive rehab program. At a large worksite the people who can point an employee toward care are the employee assistance counselor and HR.

Worksites are single locations sized by their own employees, so one large employer with several sites can appear more than once. Hospitals with 500 or more employees are in these rows too. Employer referrals are a small share of treatment admissions nationally, so this is a narrower route than the clinical rows above.

What no public count reaches

Three groups this page cannot size from a count of business locations, said in words rather than shown as numbers.

Clinicians who work alone. A therapist or psychiatrist with no paid staff is not in a count of locations with employees, so the practice rows above undercount the clinicians in the county. They are found one by one, through their licenses and their own sites, in the named version.

Courts, probation and diversion programs. They are public bodies, so they are not in a count of businesses, and the attorneys who work those cases sit inside a single count of all law offices that cannot separate them. They are found court by court in the named version.

Interventionists. No public register lists them, so no count is shown. They are found one by one in the named version.

Three openings

Where the counts point.

Hospitals that discharge into detox.

Carrara runs medically managed detox in house, with licensed nurses on site around the clock. About 110 general hospitals and about 20 psychiatric and substance use hospitals in the county discharge patients who need detox and then residential care, and their case managers and discharge planners choose where those patients go.

Outpatient clinicians who need a higher level of care.

About 2,400 therapy and psychology practices and 770 psychiatry practices with paid staff work in the county. When a client needs more than a weekly session, the clinician decides where they go next.

Other programs, in both directions.

About 380 other residential programs and 480 outpatient centers operate in the county. A program that cannot hold a client needs a place to send them, and every client leaving residential care needs an outpatient team after.

Denominators, definitions and sources

  1. Counts are establishments with paid employees in the federal County Business Patterns statistics for 2023, Los Angeles County, California. An establishment is a single physical location, not a company, sized by its own paid employees in the mid-March 2023 pay period. Businesses with no paid employees are not counted. Most government-run sites are excluded, but government-run hospitals are included.
  2. Industry codes: 622110 general medical and surgical hospitals; 622210 psychiatric and substance abuse hospitals; 621112 offices of physicians, mental health specialists; 621330 offices of mental health practitioners (except physicians); 621420 outpatient mental health and substance abuse centers; 623220 residential mental health and substance abuse facilities; 621111 offices of physicians (except mental health specialists). Large worksites are all industries combined.
  3. Built from published federal statistics, counts banded deliberately. Figures of 100 and over are rounded to two significant figures, figures from 10 to 99 to the nearest ten, and figures below 10 are shown as under 10.

The named version of this page, the actual practices and teams inside a row, is built one row at a time. If you want to walk through a row together, pick a time at cal.com/ecg. Prepared by Paul Smaldone, paul@enquirerconsulting.com.
